Revoltech(ing) Figures

Normally, I'm not so keen on action figures (except maybe my Star Wars figures), I tend to stick to fixed pose PVC or soft vinyl shizzle.
After seeing the new Revoltech range of toys on HLJ, I decided to give them a shot to see what they are like. My first from the initial range released was Dante from Devil May Cry, the two others didn't really float my boat. Dante duly arrived and I was generally a bit underwhelmed. It appeared that too much had been sacrificed to make him poseable and sometimes these figures, instead of posing, snap like brittle fucking firewood. Dante is still in one piece; but is standing like he has a shite poking it's nose out: it's just not very dynamic.

Undeterred, I noticed that Overman King Gainer was being released in the next batch. Now that's a character design I like, and I don't have a figure yet. Overman (as I like to call him/it) arrived a few days ago and seems to be much better than Dante. I sometimes think that the less human a figure, the better the likeness appears. The figure still feels like it would snap if I put it in a real action pose, and I have so far resisted putting Overman and Dante in sexual positions (the same cannot be said for some of my Micro(wo)men, sadly) for fear of snapping off their appendages.

Whatever the faults with the Revoltech range, they still kick 99% of UK/US produced action figures.
