Righty ho then, inspired by a 'darn thread i'm now wondering who on a whole from all our years of streetfighter games we, as individuals have played as the most, i'd love to say someone really obscure but in my case throughout the years i've played as gay icon ken the most and never really mastered another to the same degree.
We have 100+ members here so it should if we're all honest give us some indication of who really has got the most out of streetfighter over the years,,,,think back from arcade to snes to megadrive..whatever format....who have you given the most hours to...do we have a dhalsim master in our midst or are we all cheesy ken fans?

Ryu.
Plain and simple. Like me.
And I still can't beat anyone with any degree of skill with him.

I like to use Chun Li a bit, Ken and I went through a phase of Gen but have forgotten everything I have learned.

Ryu's moves are part of my DNA, right from the World Warrior to everything since.

I can honestly say, I've never really played it :laugh:

Actually, thinking back, I've never really played human players to any degree since the World Warrior was in a local arcade and I imported the same for my SNES.
I could probably use most of the characters; but it was so long ago.

The only way to learn is to play human opponents who are better than you. GGPO seems to be haunted by the hardcore and scares me a bit.

Iv been playing sf (super turbo mainly) for just over 4 yrs now when i first got it for the xbox , so yea...im no old skooler by any means. I have however put alot of time in (mainly online... lol) to be able to play at a high level with some good players out there.

Guile and DeeJay are my main's, i have spent hundreds of hours practicing and playing offline, aswell and playing online with them.

I can use chun well, i dont think she is a difficult character to learn with, obviously playing with her at a high level is another story...

I can use the majority of the cast to some degree apart from fei, sim, cammy, bison(dictator) and hawk who i have just avoided after trying a few games with.

So basically these are the characters i tend to stick with when playing both offline and online-

- Guile
- DJ
- Ryu
- Ken
- Chun
- Honda and
- Vega

I always played Ryu, but then I found I preferred Ken's quicker movements to Ryu's.

But basically I'm crap with anyone

First started off with Blanka in SF2 but never mastered him. For me I play best with Ryu (Ken+Akuma) & Guile, also a bit of Fei long & DJ, although I'm a pretty shit SF2 player overall!

I mostly play ken/ryu, sometimes guile but not often. I've played plain vanilla SF2 the most, last week i thought let's check out this Super SF2 thingie (cps2). I've been completely frustrated by T. Hawk. I cant seem to beat him on any difficulty level. Whats your strategy to beat this w**ker ????

For Street Fighter II' Hyper Fighting and Super Street Fighter II X it was all about Dhalsim. When I first got into SFII, I played lots of Chun Li until I realised Ryu was cheap and switched to him :p

For the Alpha series I play Dan more than any other character - seriously!

For SFIII, I play Ryu if I want to actually have any chance of winning, and almost any other character if I don't. Hugo is a particular fave :D

kerching ! another Dan fan !!! I use him in SFA3 simply because 1\ people hate losing to him 2\ his HP can crush a guard bar in seconds - he's also got Bushin combo, he's got some nasty little moves when used properly

Dan rox in V-ism too

Great to see such a great response from the forum, it looks as though tho' that we all pretty much agree (or do we?)that to be any good you need human opponents, i'm really starting to think that even if i could beat SF3.3 on the hardest setting it still may not mean that i would be any good against decent human opponents.
Still alot of people to leave their opinions tho' lets see some more eh?

I think we need to establish a support group SFAA (Street Fighter Amateurs Anonymous).
We can all help each other get over our lack of skills.
