View Full Version : Boardmaster Repaint
Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but has anyone ever attempted to repaint a Sega Boardmaster SuperGun??

no but I was going to have one powdercoated at one point.
I was thinking of (wait for it) just respraying it with a metal paint (hammerite springs to mind) Any idea what the original colour is (mines a funny off white now)
How much is powder coating??

I repainted mine before I sold it....the actual sega color is a slight off white.the best thing you can do is remove everythign on/in it....light sand it to remove any gloss in previous finish then:
repaint with any high quality generic metal spray paint (prime first for a more even color appearance) then wait 3-5 days for a good cure
then apply (same brand if possible) spray on clear cloat (very lightly and in multiple coats)
I did mine that way and it came out quite nicely

you could go the paint route or the powdercoated route, both will be nice, but I always find powdercoating to be more scratch resistant

I've got an empty Boardmaster case (dont ask how...) and its just plain white spraypaint. I was considering getting it powdercoated a nice dark blue or purple and fitting a Blastcity CP to it.
