Last Blade 1 or Last Blade 2

I have Last Blade 1 and think it's a fantastic game. Loads of character (historical characters too), quality art and sound direction. It's just great. If I had one critisism, it would be that Lee is under-powered.

So why have I never got round to bying the sequal? I think it may be not to spoil the first game for me. I've also read that many consider the second inferior to the original.
Last Blade 2 is now nearing the top of my list and thought I'd get some opinions on it.

Managed to get hold of both of these at the same time a good while ago and have managed to play a fair bit of LB1 without giving in to temptation to play 2 yet.(although i made sure i checked the cart worked when i got it)

must admit i've played LB1 more than LB2, hard to call though as I used to play LB1 with freinds, whereas by the time we got LB2 we played other things so LB2 was always primarily a 1p game for me

I prefer the original, but both are great games. I wouldn't say that Lee is underpowered, just a bit more difficult to be good with than some of the others. My friend played as him and he could be a real pain.

The extra characters in the second game are good.

Love em both. LB2 is great, just a bit of a lazy sequel.

I voted 2 just for the extra characters. I don’t think it’s in any way worse than the original, but it’s just not a huge improvement over it.

I don’t think it’s an essential MVS purchase if you have the first one, but that being said it’s still an excellent game & was high up on my ‘to buy’ list.

What else is on your list Dar, or rather in the top 5? It's easier to recomend if we know what the competition is :wink:

Last Resort (Wife bought for my Christmas)
Blues Journey (Awaiting delivery)
1. Top Hunter (don't ask me why)
2. King of Fighters '98
3. Last Blade 2
4. Prehistoric Isle 2 (I know it's a bit rubbish)
5. Shock Troopers
6. Twinkle Star Sprites
7. Samurai Showdown 5 Special (too expensive)
8. Windjammers

Also, probably a few more KoF games too, not my favorite series though.
Any "onscure/less popular games I shoud be looking for?

i love nam 75, but then i like that kinda shooting game, like cabal, wild guns on the sfc, etc. must be able to pick it up for a few quid.

Yeah, it's pretty cheap. Might as well add it to the list.
By the way, I'm in no hurry to complete my list; it's just every now and again I get a need to buy one.

i can't vote as i havent played the 2nd game... :cry: and even the first game i only played the ps2 version... or was it on the DC?? cant remember it was that long ago... was there a DC version?!

I had the PS version of LB1 and the DC version of LB2, the DC version didn't feel as responsive to inputs as the Neo version though for some reason

Personally I'd go for wind jammers next. Top Hunter is also excellent game though I've not seen it on MVS at a decent price. It was one of the first Neo Geo CD games I had along with wind jammers & Sam Sho 2.

PS I've got a spare KOF 98 in the house when it gets further up your list

thanks for the compliment tel, but in honesty I think I played pants as it goes, really pants ! not played LB1 or 2 in ages, we used to have some proper epic matches on LB1 back in the day, especially with Kaede going all Super Saiyan n shiz
