Had this for a week now, thought it was about time to crack it open.

Pretty of good stuff. I like that fact that the wires are colour coded to the PCB.
Plenty of room to stick in a PS2 or 360 PCB

Some bad points though.

I've heard you can screw it to a desk, can't figure out how to do it though.
The JLF stick is glued to the custom cable, replacement could be tricky
I've had to blank the last 2 buttons  Should have been 6 buttons to start with.
The top cover is glued to the metal plate, a custom panel cover would be difficult.

Worth the money..... no. Glad I got one..... hell yes

Im very pleased with mine....been giving it a lot of stick!! (pardon the pun!) especially tonight and it has held up like a true champion!!

Word of warning though....pc compatible....yes....works with all emulators.....no!!

Mame ok, Model 2 ok, Amiga ok, Kawaks no, Null DC no...plenty more to test but their the start points anyways for me.

i dont understand what i am looking at in your first photo, cps2.

it's the bottom of a joystick, but a plate punched for buttons?? underneath is a mess of wiring of all sorts of colours??

The stick is upside down with the back panel off (just to show the JLF)

Yes for some reason there are 8 button holes on the inside of the stick. Not sure why or what they do.

I think they made it 8 button so you have both the 6 button JP angled layout, and the 6 button US straight layout, thats what I heard anyway.

er... i don't understand why you'd want them angled (if i have understood the concept correctly). it's not exactly more ergonomic is it?

On my HRAP, I always use the first set of six buttons (angled), not the second (say you block off the first two buttons) straight set.
I feel it is more ergonomic.

No offence to any Americans; but they do love their bat top sticks too.

I dunno, I guess angled would be better. I'm used to playing on a seven button panel so I can't remember what angle it is

maybe I should look at my egret 3 panel and check..

Strange this 8 button thing. Sega got it right with the VSHG, perfect 6 button layout for SF. Just wish I could find one cheap.

How much was your TE stick ? over £100? because I've often seen VSHG's for less than that.

Picked up my TE stick for £89.00. Only paid that much because of the Vewlix look. Not seen a VSHG for a while on ebay.

I spose thats not a bad price really. Yeah VSHG's even used with shipping are almost always more than that. I've seen a few go for 60 or 70 though.

Quite often people don't even bloody use them but still have them, arseholes.

So, what is the best stick to own?
A custom job made by Laurie or one of the other guys maybe?

Depends how flexible you need the stick to be with your various devices.

Custom job will get you everything you want, HRAP's are very flexible over a multitude of devices and then you've got your "specific" sticks....

just depends really, mr meg likes his namco sticks for ps2...

personal preference imo!!

I only have a namco stick with adaptor, it'll do. not a bad stick from stock at all.

I would have thought a decent HRAP would be the pinnacle of sticks.
Unfortunately since I changed the stock buttons to some nice Sanwa ones, it has completely changed the stick; it is now far superior.
I noticed the improvement during my first game of SFIV.

PS2 sticks are still nice and flexible (if you have something like the Elcom adaptor Meg gave me).

The SFIV TE stick does sound like a good stick without any modding required.

S'all about the parts. The box it's in don't matter as long as it's solid.
